Locked In
Two weeks ago, Reddit user TheBoyDilly dropped what could be the next evolution in practicing for Fortnite. He calls it Locked In (code: 7890-4927-0850).
It’s a nine-player game where, when you engage with another player, you get “locked in” with them and a barrier forms around your fight. You then fight or box fight until one player remains. The barrier goes away and the process repeats until one player of the original nine is left standing.
I haven’t had time to play the new Creative mode yet because last week was crazy (sorry for missing Wed and Fri’s editions) but conceptually it looks awesome! It seems like it could be a better version or at least side-step evolution of Zone Wars where rather than contend with the craziness of a ~16 player lobby all trying to get to #1, it’s a little more siloed and paced. Maybe it’s a Medium Place between regular games and Zone Wars for players that need it. (Editor’s note: I’ll miss The Good Place. What a great show. Watch it if you haven’t.)
It feels like this could be different simulation of endgames that can make us better. I’m excited to try it out and see how it goes!
Season 2
Season 1 is finally over soon (Feb 20). Remember, we’ve got the Unreal Engine changeover coming and the mystery two week period.
With the success of the OCE cup last week and Epic announcing a PS4-exclusive cup, competitive Fortnite should be coming back to life in the spring. Nothing lasts forever. Echoing last Monday’s edition, they’re likely just putting the pieces in place for what’s going to be a big 2020!

That’s it for today. See you Wednesday.
Tell your Mom about FF in the meantime.
